Microsoft officially announced the next generation of Windows will support the ARM chip

Microsoft Windows cum-president of Windows Live Steven Sinofsky on Wednesday (1 / 5) at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), announced the next generation of Windows operating system will Zhiyuanjitong-chip (SoC) architecture, including from NVIDIA, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments ( TI) and other ARM processors.

Sinofsky said Microsoft has reached a certain level of technology to meet the user experience on computing needs, from software on a modern laptop capabilities and breadth of the mobile phone is always on the long-lasting battery and power status, as well as from a new generation of flat panel computer possibilities. The announcement shows the ability of the Windows platform can be achieved by the flexibility of software, Microsoft Windows platform will be further developed to provide customers in different hardware platforms functional requirements and size.


This is the first demonstration of a new generation of Microsoft's Windows operating system, the main demonstration of Windows architecture developed to support the results of ARM platform. However, the new operating system's user interface, API or other new features will be revealed one by one in the future.
